Member's Commitment
Devon Rural Network Membership
- Membership is open to organisations, agencies and partnerships at all levels statutory and otherwise, working and supporting rural life in Devon. It is not open to individuals or individual private businesses.
- Membership of the DRN is by subscription. The standard annual amount is £25 under normal circumstances. However the Management Advisory Group may grant concessions as appropriate, and especially to organisations run entirely by volunteers.
- Membership is for one year (or part thereof) running from 1st April to 31st March.
- Members share information, network, and make their voices heard. There is a website, a minimum of 6 newsletters per year, an AGM and at least 2 conferences or seminars.
- Funding partners are those member organisations who contribute to the DRN, either through cash or in kind services such as provision of meeting rooms etc, to a sum in excess of £500 per year.
Membership Benefits
The following benefits are received through membership to the DRN:
- Added lobbying power to organisations - allying work and interest with other like minded rural bodies to speak as one voice for rural Devon.
- The opportunity to meet and network with key rural stakeholders in Devon including regional and statutory bodies.
- The chance to take part in seminars, briefings and consultations as needed to ensure your point of view is heard
- Membership allows inclusion into the DRN Action Groups if desired and, where applicable, discounted conference and event fees
- The chance to attend 2 DRN events each year to hear the progress of DRN, its forthcoming work and the chance to learn and input into current priority issues.
- A bi-monthly newsletter bringing you up to date with DRN, strategic and other members news
- The opportunity to share your information, news and events through the DRN newsletter which is distributed to all key authorities and members within Devon.
- The DRN website is available for all members to post news and events. Members can also have a link through to their own website
- Provides a forum to share examples of good practice and learn from others in the network.
- Membership organisations can nominate more than one person to be included under the membership, though we do request that for more formal purposes, one person is appointed to be the key contact.
Members Commitment
By signing up to DRN members agree to:
- Supply up to date details for the DRN contacts database and abide by the terms of reference
- Work together as effectively and efficiently as possible to deliver the aims of the DRN - while respecting the views of all members.
- Promote inclusivity - operating and promoting equality of opportunity and involvement of all
- Assist the network's core to focus on strategic issues that need to be delivered or co-ordinated at a Devon-wide level
- Promote the Devon "cause" at Regional, National and European level whenever possible
- Develop the partnerships necessary to deliver the Devon Rural Strategy and the DRN Action Programme.
