Devon Reinvestment Service
What is the Devon Reinvestment Service?
The Devon Reinvestment Service (DRS) provides support to community groups to develop Community Assets – new or existing land or buildings – to provide sustainable facilities such as: - community facilities e.g. village halls, community centres, recreational facilities
- premises for business start-ups and social enterprise to provide local jobs and solutions to local needs, e.g. childcare or social clubs for the elderly, small workshop space
- learning and skills development centres e.g. providing access to IT facilities, broadband and supported tutoring in vocational subjects
Who provides the service?
The DRS has been formed as a partnership programme between Devon County Council, Wessex Reinvestment Trust and Business in the Community. The service is partly funded by the partnership and EU Objective 2 funding.
What assistance is available?
The DRS provides access to professional skills in property development, financial management and community enterprise to local action groups and people engaged in community regeneration projects and programmes.
Through its partners with specialist service providers, signposting to support agencies and links to the business community, the DRS can provide a mix of skills at appropriate stages throughout the life of a project:
